Cat and Kitten Games and Activities
Cat Puzzles
Cut large cat shapes out of posterboard. Cover the shapes with clear self-stick paper and cut each one into several large interlocking puzzle pieces. This activity is perfect for small fingers. For older children, increase the difficulty by cutting each puzzle into smaller pieces.

Set up baskets at varying distances from a masking tape line on the floor. Toss yarn balls into the baskets.

Bean Bag Toss
Make a cat shape on plywood or a big piece of heavy cardboard, with holes of different sizes cut out. The children can try from varying distances to throw bean bags through the holes.

CopyCat
Have one child be the cat and clap a rhythm for the group. The other children listen and then be the copycats. They clap the same rhythm as he cat did. Another child now becomes the cat and creates a rhythm for the copycats to imitate.

Cut and glue together a simple cat shape from black paper. Cover a coffee can- the mouse hole- with another piece of black paper. Make up enough small mice out of felt by cutting them out in teardrop shapes. Add a pompon and length of yarn for the tail. Glue sequins on for eyes or draw them on with markers. Next, turn a coffee can on its side and place it on top of a table. Place a dozen crackers leading up to the mouse hole. Have each child choose a mouse and the teacher picks the cat. Then let each child roll the die and move his or her mouse or cat that number of crackers. Let play continue, encouraging the children to try to move their mice into the mouse hole before the cat gets there. Game ends when the cat reaches the mouse hole or when all mice have safely entered.

File Folder Games

PREPARATION:
Cut a kitten shape out of white felt. Then cut two mitten shapes out of blue felt and one mitten shape each out of the other colors.

ACTIVITY: Place the kitten shape on the flannel board and put a blue mitten shape on one of its paws. As you recite the poem, place the appropriate colored mittens, one at a time, on the kitten’s other paw. When the children become familiar with the poem, leave off the last word in each verse and let them supply the rhyming color word.
ACTIVITY: As you recite each verse of the poem, place the appropriate colored cat shape on the flannel board. Encourage the children to try out different kinds of Mee-ows for each color cat.

Permainan abjad dan nombor
Assalamualaikum
Sudah dua hari saya jalankan aktiviti permainan menulis abjad dan nombor. Murid-murid saya sangat suka dengan permainan ini. Semasa bermain ini saya menggunakan banyak stiker berbentuk bintang. Memang diluar jangkaan kerana ianya benar-benar berkesan. Murid-murid saya sangat bersemangat untuk mendapatkan stiker paling banyak. Aiman yang sering saya marahi juga bersemangat untuk menulis dengan cepat. Saya gembira sangat melihat perkembangan Aiman. Yang seronoknya selepas waktu Pendidikan Islam, murid-murid sudah bersedia menanti kemasukan saya ke kelas. Saat paling seronok ialah bila mereka mengira secara menurun dan diikuti dengan "sound effect ". Jom tengok gelagat murid-murid saya.

Permainan Kenal Abjad

Sebenarnya saya sudah lupa bilangan permainan yang telah saya kumpul untuk aktiviti mengenal abjad. Namun saya sentiasa teruja untuk mencari. Malam ini saya menemui satu lagi permainan yang boleh membantu kita memperkenalkan abjad kepada kanak-kanak. Sebenarnya saya masih mencari perisian yang pernah anak saya gunakan sejak 13 tahun lalu untuk mengenal abjad dengan cepat. Memang sangat baik kerana anak saya dapat mengenal abjad hanya dalam seminggu!. Ya SEMINGGU. Dia berjaya mengenal abjad dengan sangat cepat menggunakan perisian tersebut yang saya masukkan ke dalam komputer. Dia menggunakan komputer setiap hari ketika usianya 5 tahun. Permainan seperti di bawah ini diharapkan dapat membantu murid-murid untuk belajar dengan pantas. Hanya klik pada gambar kerana saya telah memasukkan link laman web itu di sebalik gambar.

Magic Baking
Assalamualaikum
Hari ini kami di Johor bercuti. Namun pada pukul 2.00 petang ini saya dikehendaki bertugas sebagai pengelola peserta Pertandingan Pakaian Beragam di Dataran Tun Sri Lanang di tepi sungai Kota Tinggi. Jadi sementara menanti waktu itu pagi ini saya sempat meneroka permainan yang boleh digunakan bagi tema Makanan iaitu Magic Baking. Dalam permainan ini kanak-kanak perlu mendengar arahan yang disebut oleh komputer. Apa yang menarik di dalam permainan ini, kanak-kanak boleh mencetak resipi dan membuat roti di dapur. Hmm... saya pun teruja sama untuk membuatnya.

Suaikan Abjad
Assalamualaikum,
Saya masih lagi mencari bahan untuk aktiviti suaikan abjad. Tujuan saya mencari bahan-bahan seperti ini adalah sebagai satu kajian untuk projek saya yang akan datang. Hmm projek apakah itu? Oh, kenalah tunggu. Nanti tidak menjadi kejutan pula. Apapun saya sebenarnya seronok berkongsi idea ini dengan anda. Sebagai guru kita kena cuba dahulu aktiviti yang ada di internet ini untuk disesuaikan dengan objektif pengajaran kita. Menarik bukan aktiviti permainan ini. Kerap-keraplah menggunakan internet di kelas sekiranya ada kerana apa yang saya dengar asekolah yang tinggi penggunaan internetnya akan ditambah lagi talian oleh Kementerian Pelajaran.

Pagi Ahad ini saya ingin mengumpulkan seberapa banyak permainan dalam talian yang berkaitan dengan mengenal abjad untuk memudahkan rujukan saya di masa akan datang. Ia juga diharap akan dapat membantu ibu bapa murid-murid saya yang mencari-cari program seumpamanya untuk membantu anak-anak mereka di rumah. Yalah biasanya kanak-kanak mudah bosan kalau asyik disuakan dengan buku sahaja. Jom ajak mereka bermain bersama anda di meja komputer. Pastikan anda sentiasa ada di sisi untuk membimbing mereka.
Baiklah program pertama yang saya temui adalah Alphabet Letter Puzzle. Minta kanak-kanak klik pada huruf kecil pada petak yang disediakan.

Kanak-kanak juga akan dapat mempelajari nama-nama haiwan yang bermula dengan abjad tertentu. Saya kira anda semua pasti teruja untuk mendapatkan program seperti ini di kelas. Sayangnya semua permainan ini adalah secara dalam talian. Dapatkan ia di sini.

Terima kasih kepada Isma yang mengajukan soalan tentang permainan bertema makanan. Saya seronok sekali melayan soalan anda. Sekurang-kurangnya saya akan dapat mencari bahan yang bersesuaian untuk membantu saya mengajar di kelas dan membantu anda juga sudah pastinya.
